PRO-DAY Baseball
conducted its first baseball camp the summer
of 1989 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The camp
had 52 participants ranging in ages from 5 years
old up to 18 years of age. The excitement
generated was just overwhelming watching these
young players.
The campers wanted to learn the correct way
to play the game of baseball and the professionals
on hand had their attention. The willingness
to learn from the professional players and scouts was
seen in their eyes, thus we decided to continue our
camps.
Since that summer of 1989, PRO-DAY Baseball
has held numerous camps and clinics. We’ve had
hundreds of our alumni advance to have great collegiate
careers, with many others drafted into professional
baseball over the years.
PRO-DAY Baseball had its inaugural “Showcase” on
December 28, 2001 in Orange Beach, Alabama. The
participants began getting more exposure from these
showcases as collegiate coaches and professional scouts
flocked to our showcases evaluating the talent.
Today, PRO-DAY Baseball has expanded to “Twelve
Southern States” with the “Top Players” being
invited to participate in the annual prestigious “Best
of the Best” showcase. This is held at our headquarters
in Orange Beach, Alabama on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.
The “Best of the Best” showcase
has drawn professional scouts from over half of the
major league organizations and college coaches from
the SEC, ACC, Sun Belt, Gulf Coast, and NJCAA Regions
2, 8, 16, 17, 22 and 23. The top junior college
programs in the country have been in attendance too.
There have been so many requests recently for
PRO-DAY Baseball to come to new regions of our wonderful
country. We plan to expand in 2008 to the
western and northern United States. This addition
should move us into 15-20 states as we continue to
expand PRO-DAY Baseball to every young man who has
the dream of moving to the next level. |
