The
RGASF was established February 10, 2003 in honor of the late
Ralph Gross, who graduated from Nashville High School in
1952.
Ralph
was a standout athlete at NHS in football, basketball,
baseball, tennis and track. He
later would take his talents to Henderson State Teachers
College, before serving in the United States Marines in Okinawa,
Japan in 1954-56.
After
two years of service to our country, he financially wasn’t
able to continue college and went out into the working
world to help his parents during tough times.
The Gross Family wanted to establish
this fund to help a student-athlete who wants to go off to
college to pursue their education while playing sports.
This Scholarship will be awarded to a
student-athlete at Nashville High School each May during
the Awards Assembly Ceremony and will be presented by a member
of the Gross Family.
