When should I get started?

I encourage players to get started when they are a freshman/sophmore and no later than their junior year.

Why is this?

Many of your "TOP" College programs start looking at players during this time. They normally sign their players in the early fall signing period prior to their senior baseball season.

Since colleges play in the spring, like high school programs, it's hard for coaches to get out and recruit.

A senior doesn't get noticed much unless his team makes it to the state tournament. The coaches already have a recruiting list they acquired, prior to the players senior year. These are the players they will look at hard. The colleges rely heavily on showcases since they can see many players at one time. As stated before, this saves on their recruiting budget.
